Happy Birthday to Mighty Mouse. Here's the first Terrytoon's short: "The Mouse of Tomorrow" explaining how Mighty Mouse became a "Super Hero".
Producer Ralph Bakshi returned Mighty Mouse to Saturday morning TV in the late 1980's with "Mighty Mouse : the New Adventure". It was a great series with a lot of comedy, animation in jokes and it also gave a lot of young writers and directors their start in the animation industry. Here's a great example of one of those adventures.
And sadly on this day in 2005, the world lost Pixar's Story Giant, Joe Ranft. Below is a very touching and wonderful tribute to his life.
