Watchcat Films reaches $100 goal!

You Did It!

With all your help, we have finally reached our first $100 goal by clicking on our ads. Please don't stop clicking, we want to donate to other causes as well and need your continued support. We surpassed our $100 with $15.02 in clicks this month, giving us $9.88 towards the next $100 goal.
Scene 2: Mikey animation by Joel Brinkerhoff

Last weekend, we went to the Starlight Bowl in Burbank where I stood on the stage with my son Marco holding up our two Foster kittens Barney and Betty. We were there to promote the VBAS Kitten Adoption program and let people know there are a lot of kittens that need good homes.                                                                                                                        This Saturday, July 21, I'm bring Barney and Betty to the VBAS Kitten Adoption Fair. Hoping to adopt them as a pair since they are related and make a good team. If you are looking for two cute kittens and are in the Burbank area, come on by.

At the end of July, we will receive a $100 check from Google, which we will award to the Burbank Animal Shelter. To make this official, we are currently looking for a bank that prints out those giant checks, if anyone knows of a bank like that, please let us know.

Watchcat Reviews: Hotel Translvania 3

We got 4 more ad clicks and want to thank Lucy and her owner Deany Jones for clicking on the ads, proving that dogs also like the Watchcat files blog!

Those 4 clicks came on the 4th of July and 1 more click over the weekend, now we only need $2.12 more ad clicks to get our $100 goal! Just a few more clicks will do the job. Don't delay, Click today!

We also want to welcome our international viewers from 5 top countries who looked at this blog last week. We welcome 36 viewers from Russia, 29 from Mexico, 9 from UK, 7 from France and 6 from Canada and 4 viewers all the way from Egypt!

Our Comment section below works, try it out and let us know what you think with your comments below.

Here's a revised Animatic of our Halloween episode so far.

And BTW, Avocado hunting season has begun.

But enough of clicking ads and avocados, we will have a new Watchcat Reviews next Wednesday where we will review "Won't you be my Neighbor."
Here is my mini review of Hotel Transylvania 3.

I got a sneak peak at Hotel Transylvania 3 which opens Friday, July 13th, perfect timing for a release for this film. I have seen the previous films and was thinking that 3 might be more of the same. No spoilers here and you can find more complete reviews at other sites, but I was pleasantly surprised with all the snappy animation, funny gags and new characters. The main premise of the film is to spend more time with your family, but there is also a more subtle message for the audience. Not hammered into the viewer's head, but more of a whisper, about how we are all different, but can live in peace with one another.

A pretty important message was wrapped up inside this Summer comedy monster movie about a family who goes on a vacation adventure. Its a very fun and fast paced ride which the entire family will enjoy and is a good film to see on a hot Summer's day to beat the heat.

After the screening, I got a brief chance to say hello to the director of all three films, Genndy Tartakovsky. You see, I  first met Genndy when he went to Columbia College in Chicago in the late 1980's. He left Chicago for CalArts in California, came up with Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack   and has been doing well in animation ever since.

We chatted briefly and I had enough time to hand him my Watchcat Films business card. I feel like I did not come off as desperate Fanboy. I would've love to talk to him more about this film, but he had to leave to address an audience full of people who had just seen the film. I walked with my family back to our car, of course, thinking of all the stuff I should have said or asked, but one thing is sure, he's got my card and how to contact me. So Genndy, if you are reading this. Please email me and as they use to say, "Let's do lunch."

Happy 4th Watchcat Wednesday!

Happy Birthday America and welcome to a very special Watchcat Wednesday. As promised, here are a few fun things to celebrate the national holiday including Kittens!

Meet Betty and Barney, who we are fostering and will be up for adoption as soon. You see more cats and kittens on the BAS website

To help out the Burbank Animal Shelter this summer, my family is fostering groups of kittens. The BAS assigns us the kittens that we take of and get them use to living with people. Once they are old enough, we take them to the adoption fair in hopes to find them permanent homes.

Its a very good program to volunteer for, because there are so many kittens that are found or abandon. If you're interested, contact the BAS here or your local animal shelter, many have similar programs.

Still only $5.14 ad clicks away from our $100 goal. In June, we only got 2 clicks which  generated .34 cents, but in previous months we have received 3 to 5 bucks per month. I'm not sure if anyone is clicking or not, since Google is not reporting any ad clicks. Please click on the ads (upper right), let us know if you did it and help us hit our final goal this July.

But you didn't come here just to look at cute kittens, or did you?

Here's a hilarious Mash-Up Trailer from our friend Brandon Swafford, who was nice enough to give Watchcat a shout out at the end of his latest parody. Check it out.

And speaking of cats, here's another exciting episode of Jim Draws where he draws his 5 cats!

And this just in, 4 clicks on the 4th of July yielded $2.88, giving us only $2.27 to reach our $100 goal. Have a Happy 4th of July and a great Watchcat Wednesday and click on our ads. Thank You!
