Here's a revised Animatic of our Halloween episode so far.
And BTW, Avocado hunting season has begun.
But enough of clicking ads and avocados, we will have a new Watchcat Reviews next Wednesday where we will review "Won't you be my Neighbor."
Here is my mini review of Hotel Transylvania 3.
I got a sneak peak at Hotel Transylvania 3 which opens Friday, July 13th, perfect timing for a release for this film. I have seen the previous films and was thinking that 3 might be more of the same. No spoilers here and you can find more complete reviews at other sites, but I was pleasantly surprised with all the snappy animation, funny gags and new characters. The main premise of the film is to spend more time with your family, but there is also a more subtle message for the audience. Not hammered into the viewer's head, but more of a whisper, about how we are all different, but can live in peace with one another.
A pretty important message was wrapped up inside this Summer comedy monster movie about a family who goes on a vacation adventure. Its a very fun and fast paced ride which the entire family will enjoy and is a good film to see on a hot Summer's day to beat the heat.
After the screening, I got a brief chance to say hello to the director of all three films, Genndy Tartakovsky. You see, I first met Genndy when he went to Columbia College in Chicago in the late 1980's. He left Chicago for CalArts in California, came up with Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack and has been doing well in animation ever since.
We chatted briefly and I had enough time to hand him my Watchcat Films business card. I feel like I did not come off as desperate Fanboy. I would've love to talk to him more about this film, but he had to leave to address an audience full of people who had just seen the film. I walked with my family back to our car, of course, thinking of all the stuff I should have said or asked, but one thing is sure, he's got my card and how to contact me. So Genndy, if you are reading this. Please email me and as they use to say, "Let's do lunch."
